Overview

[99mTc]Tc-BQ0413 is a radiopharmaceutical agent designed for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positive lesions, primarily in prostate cancer. It consists of the PSMA-targeting ligand BQ0413 labeled with technetium-99m via a mercaptoacetyl–triglutamate chelator. The compound binds with high affinity and specificity to PSMA-expressing cells and tumors, enabling visualization of primary prostate cancer lesions as well as metastases in lymph nodes and bones. Preclinical studies demonstrated strong tumor uptake dependent on PSMA expression and favorable biodistribution properties, including efficient suppression of renal uptake compared to other agents like PSMA-11. Clinical Phase 1 trials have shown that [99mTc]Tc-BQ0413 is safe, well-tolerated, and provides high-quality SPECT images for staging and diagnosis in patients with prostate cancer[1][2][4][5][7].
